What we do

YAMAGARA is a community-focused company based in Nagahama City, northern Shiga Prefecture, where we have been developing businesses that highlight the unique charm and culture of the region for more than seven years.

We are dedicated to preserving traditional Japanese houses (kominka) by carefully renovating and repurposing them as accommodation facilities, not only to provide unique travel experiences but also to protect these valuable pieces of local heritage from being lost. We believe that these historic homes carry the memories, craftsmanship, and spirit of the people who lived there, and our mission is to pass them on to future generations in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Manager-Accommodation & Café Operations

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the overall operation and management of our accommodation facilities and affiliated café.

Managing accommodation reservations and handling guest check-in/check-out procedures
Managing café operations, including menu planning, staff training, and customer service
Managing sales, inventory, and staff schedules
Recruiting and developing team members
Planning and proposing improvements to enhance service quality

Future Role & Career Opportunities

In addition to managing our current five accommodation facilities and café, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the launch and operation of our new long-stay accommodation facility planned for 2027.

In the future, we hope you will grow into a key person who can lead our entire hospitality business, including operations, team development, and service improvements. With the growth of YAMAGARA, you will have the chance to inherit and carry forward everything we have built here.
